
Mr Lance Christiansen - Principal
Mr Christiansen has been Principal here at CHB College since 2012. He was also Head of Humanities here from 1995 –1998. Mr Christiansen oversee's all aspects of the school operation such as financial management, staffing and making sure the Ministry of Education requirements are meet.

Mr Garth Sherwood - Deputy Principal
Mr Sherwood has been in his present role as the Deputy Principal for about fifteen years with his main responsibility being the day to day running of the school and to support staff and students, so that the teachers can teach and students can learn. In addition, Mr, Sherwood is involved in the areas of Health & Safety and Property and teaches a Level 2 Mathematics class. He has previously taught Physical Education, Health Education and Outdoor Education here at the College and admits having been here long enough to have taught the parents of many of our present students.

Mr Ed Breen - Assistant Principal
Mr Breen's main focus is around the Curriculum and timetable, however managing our IT network is also one of his main tasks along with looking after school lunches.
Mr Breen came over from Scotland to NZ in 1998, and in 2015 jumped at the opportunity to move to Central Hawke’s Bay College and has settled with Margie (Mrs Breen Y12 Dean) Euan – a very recent ex-student and Eilidh - a current CHB student in Tikokino.

Mrs Melissa Franklin- Assistant Principal
10 years ago Mrs Franklin moved to Waipukurau from Auckland, along with husband Stephen, who also works at College as a Teacher Aide and is involved in the CHB Year 8 Sports Academy. Also their two daughters Paige and Bree, who both attend CHBC.
Mrs Franklin is heavily involved in the CHB Swim Club as both daughters and Mr Franklin are avid swimmers. Needless to say, they are a sporting family with Mr Franklin competing in triathlons and Mrs Franklin an ultra-distance runner. The familie's passion for sport still continues strong and they hope to keep encouraging kids to be active in sport.
Mrs Franklin's main focus as Assistant Principal involves "Teaching and Learning" where she works to support teachers with their professional development and their practice in the classroom. Mrs Franklin also teaches Science and Health as well as being Teacher in Charge of Netball.
"I feel very blessed to be working at CHBC and live in our wonderful CHB community. Amazing things happen here, and we are lucky and privileged to be a part of all of it".
