A team of seven swimmers, Lucas Perceval, Ramona Lively-Masters, Paige Franklin, Abigail Boyd, JM Macalalad, Bree Franklin and Alex McCutcheon represented the College at the NZSS Swimming Championship in Wellington from July 20th to July 23rd. This event had over 500 swimmers competing from all over the country, which made it the biggest swimming event many of our students had ever attended. Everyone swum well, gaining at least two new personal best times in various events, as well as competing in several relays.
Notable results were:
Paige Franklin placed 4th in the 50m breast and 100m breast and also gained 10 top placings in the 100m Individual Medley, 200m Individual Medley, 50m Butterfly and 100m Butterfly for the 15-year-old girls.
Lucas Perceval- placed 5th in the 50m Backstroke and 400m Freestyle and also gained 10 top placings in the 100m Individual Medley, 100m Backstroke, 100m Freestyle and 50m Butterfly for the 16-year-old boys.
Mixed U16 4x50m Freestyle Relay of JM Macalalad, Bree Franklin, Paige Franklin and Ramona Lively-Masters placed 4th.
Girls U16 4x50m Medley Relay of Abigail Boyd, Ramona Lively-Masters, Paige Franklin and Bree Franklin placed 10th.
Well done swimmers on your achievements and thank you to the Grassroots Trust for the funding grant to allow our swimmers compete at this event.
