Tio James Power and Beautiful Ropiha both spent the weekend representing Hawke’s Bay in the NZ Regional Qualifiers in Palmerston North. Tio James and the HB U17 B team, won 4 out of 5 games to finish first in their division against two Manawatu teams, Taranaki, and HB C team. TJ was a highlight in the scoring of points, managing to dominate his opponents and draw fouls to make 95% of his free throws, scoring a total of 35 points.

Beautiful and the HB U15 girls team came away with 2 wins and 3 losses.  They qualified third, so they are off to Auckland to compete in Nationals after facing Gisborne, Manawatu and Taranaki teams. Beautiful stood out on the court for her elite defence and stunning steals.
