Senior Benchmark Exams


Senior Benchmark Exams are scheduled for Wednesday 14th to Tuesday 20th September.  It is essential that student’s diary these dates and read the important information about exam conditions below. 

 

Students must contact Mr Sherwood asap if there are any exam clashes or queries about the exams garths@chbc.school.nz 

 

  • No year 11/12/13 classes will operate during the exam period.
  • During exam weeks students will be either:
    • At school sitting an exam
    • At school in the library studying
    • At school attending work catch up session
    • At home studying
  • Bell times will be as per normal
  • Students must be in full school winter uniform as usual.
  • Gateway Students liaise with WKR
  • Folio students must attend Folio sessions on Tuesday 20 Sept.

 

Exam Conditions:

  • All exams are 3 hours unless otherwise stated
  • All exams will be in the Hall unless otherwise stated
  • Students are to be ready to enter their exam outside the Hall or exam room at least 10 minutes before the exam starts. Morning exams = 8.50am; Afternoon Exam = 12.50pm.
  • Students must stay in every exam for the entire duration of the exam
  • Students must enter and exit hall or exam room silently
  • No food (water in clear plastic water bottles are OK)
  • No cell phones / No watches (switch off and leave in your bag in the Hall Foyer or with exam supervisors or in a sealed plastic bag under your desk)
  • Pens, pencils etc. to be in a clear plastic bag
  • Students provide own equipment; check with subject teachers (you are not permitted to take paper into the exam venue)
  • No communication permitted between students. Students must always face the front.
  • If you are unable to be at an exam your parents/guardian must contact the College prior to the exam. Medical certificates will be expected for reasons of illness or injuries that prevent students from sitting exams.
  • Exam results may be used to determine derived grades as required. In the current environment this is especially important.
